Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review

I have played Mario Galaxy 2 and have completed the game. These are my thoughts about the game play, graphics and where I think the game could have been improved.

The game is a classic Mario game.

Mario has to rescue Princess Peach, as Bowser has once again kidnapped her. It's a good and a bad thing that this is the same storyline as other Mario games. It's a good thing because you don't have to learn a whole new set of characters, and Bowser is hard enough to beat as it is!

It's a bad thing because seriously, how many times do you have to rescue a princess before the kidnapper realises that he isn't going to get away with it?! If I was Mario or Princess Peach, I would be thinking about taking out a restraining order against Bowser!

The graphics are bright and colourful and it is lovely to see a lot of colour in the video game, especially considering a lot of games these days are going quite dark or are just using blocks of colour.

The characters are still in their cartoon style of animation, but it is a lot smoother than the old 8Bit games where Mario first made his name as *the* hero of an action platformer.

I think that the game could have been improved by being longer and having a wider selection of power ups available.

I give the game eight stars out of ten.

Newer Super Mario Bros or New Super Mario Bros

If you don't know Newer Super Mario Bros is a downloadable game that is an unofficial sequel to New Super Mario Bros created by the Newer Team.

The story goes that the team at Nintendo, thought so highly of this unofficial sequel that they gave it an official game code but who knows if that is true or not!

Newer Super Mario Bros and New Super Mario Bros are very similar games, because they are the same game just mashed up a bit but I do feel that Newer Super Mario Bros is a little harder.
